DCC Automation Participates in Safe + Sound Week

During the week of August 15th – 21st DCC Automation participated in acknowledging Safe + Sound week. This week is an annual initiative by OSHA, and a coalition of safety organizations that is intended to promote awareness and an understanding of workplace safety and health programs, which “can proactively identify and manage workplace hazards before they cause injury or illness, improving the sustainability and the bottom line.”

Participating in Safe + Sound week was a great way to get the safety program at DCC energized and recognize those who are dedicated to safety and go above and beyond.

During this week we focused on:

  1. Hazard Analysis of each position. – Each employee was required to fill out a Hazard and Assessment form relating to their job position. An evaluation will be done at the next safety meeting to ensure that we are implementing all measures possible to eliminate or reduce the risk associated with each task.
  2. Conducted a fun Safety Trivia Quiz. Some fun and intriguing questions were asked to help promote thought about the risk involved at work and everyday life.
  3. Spoke about Heat and Safety Awareness. Employees were trained on the differences between heat stress and heat stroke, how to treat, and what are key ways to prevent.
  4. Employees were chosen to be recognized for continuing to be going above and beyond when it comes to safety.

Aaron Hampton

Aaron Hampton was chosen as DCC-Automation- MN site’s Safety Excellence Award winner. Aaron moved from production to shipping a few months back and has become a bigger asset to the MN site. He runs a tight ship in his area, and there are no safety hazards to be found (nor will one find dust or clutter or even loitering co-workers!)

Michael Schneider

Michael Schneider was chosen as DCC-Automation- NY site’s Safety Excellence Award winner. Working in various departments wherever there is help needed Michael takes every precaution to ensure he is working to eliminate risk. If Michael sees something, he will say something and help to correct the issue and safety hazard.

We thank our employees for actively participating in Safety Awareness not only this week, but throughout the year.

Safety is a necessity – for the well-being of the workers and their families.
